Specifically, browsing history...my older kids like some websites that are harmless in themselves, but link to some pretty dodgy/dangerous stuff. If I can check their browsing history from my computer via our wireless network router, I can keep them safe without having to stare over their shoulder or install some annoyingly intrusive web-nanny program. Is that possible?

I'm also concerned that the router might store things like stored passwords, banking information etc. that could somehow be acessed by say, a spyware/virus type program.

  1. no, the router does not record browsing history, bank passwords,etc..../

  2. The router doesn't store any information. The firmware is just a program that runs within the router and gives you the ability to configure it. Browsing history is all saved to the hard drive on your computer to look at what your kids have been looking at would be under cookies which you click my computer- local drive C: - Documents and settings- Their username or wherever they log onto - then you have to set your files settings to view it click tools- folder options - view - show hidden folders, and uncheck the next to below that option then hit yes when you get a security pop-up. Then press apply or ok then click cookies and look at the web-sites they have been to.
