i mean does it matter in pacquiao's case!?

I dont understand why people can't appreciate manny's victory over his opponents. They will usually make up some things just to make and excuse like manny beat them because they are old and passed their primes like morales marquez, barrera and etc

THATS NONSENSE.!

boxing is about skill and the power the person holds within.

look at the past weeks/days. GRANDPA casamayor schooled the unbeaten wbo champ katsidis and GRANDAPA campbell schooled the unbeaten wbc, wbo, ibf champ juan diaz.

what do you think guys!?!!

MANNY IN LIGHTWEIGHT IS COMING..........

  1. Age does matter, but the impact varies depending on a fighters style and of course their skill level and technical ability. There are lots of examples of successful older boxers -Archie Moore is the classic example and of course Bernard Hopkins is now 43 and Foreman was 45 when he re - won the title. The first thing to go is reaction speed, so a boxer who relies on quick reactions rather than skill, power or workrate will have problems as he gets older. The best thing to do is to increase your boxing skill as you get older, which to a large extent wil happen naturally as you get more experienced. George Foreman is a good example -'90's George was actually a better boxer than '70's George and paced himself much better. Punching power is the last thing to go, which also favored fighters like George and Archie Moore. But one thing all these successful older boxers have in common is "ring smarts", not just skill but knowing the ropes and the tricks that will work with younger, less experienced fighters.

  2. manny is still the best

  3. Age definitely matters in boxing, but as you get older, you also are more experienced, so if you were a great boxer in your prime you can extend your career a lot longer by being smarter. Eventually though, your reflexes are too slow to make up for your experience and it's time to retire.

As for Manny, I put him up there as one of the top 3 fighters right now (him, Mayweather, and Calzaghe). He beat everyone who he's come across. Juan Manuel Marquez is by far his best matchup, but that has to do more with styles than Marquez being better. Manny is a much better overall fighter than Marquez.

The people who don't give Pacquiao credit for his success are wrong. He's taken all comers, and beat them all, most of them soundly.

As for Casamayor, he really got lucky in that fight. Katsidis should have taken him out, but Katsidis didn't pressure once he had Casamayor hurt.

Nate Campbell was a prime example of what a veteran smart boxer can do against a young inexperienced boxer (especially one who doesn't have a knockout punch). Campbell just outworked Juan Diaz and mentally wore him down.

  4. If you're a great and you agreed to fight, then you lose, of course you are obviously no better than the other fighter. Irregardless of how many fights or what you're age is. Saying they are not in their prime is rubbish because when they fought, they were all the top fighters in their division. The fact that they agreed to fight Pacman while they were still ranked on the top, they lost because their boxing skills wasn't enough to beat the Pacman. Yeah great boxing skills is good but only if you keep on winning. Plain and simple truth.

Quite hard to swallow for some but Pac has the knockdowns, wins and belts to back it up while the others have NONE. All they have are stories of how they great they were before facing a real fighter like Pacquiao and how they all became canvas kissers because of Pacman. Funny how people cannot accept the truth and hard facts.

  5. Mexican and their champs knew better because thats always their excuse when their champ was beaten.

  6. Age does matter kid.  Not only intelligent, heart, persistency, strength, will, determination but speed as well are what you need to win

  7. you're right dude. Manny beat all of 'em cause of his speed and power not because they're old... and he's gonna prove that after whoopin David Diaz's a** on June!

  8. You cannot deny that people slow down and have worse reaction times as they get older it's just truth.

  9. manny is going for mayweather & hatton
