Does akita husky mix shed a lot?

i am hoping to get a mix or an akita and a husky but i need to know if it will shed a lot?

Yes it will shed and they usually blow their coats twice a year.

OMG yes!! They shed especially at certain times of the year. thy require regular grooming visits. every 4 to 8 weeks.

OMG YESSSSSSS!!!!!!  I love him though sooo much.  Run the vacuum about 3 times a day.  Get a Furminator...expensive but worth it.

Yes it will shed alot.  Both breeds are high shedders, so this pup will naturally be a high shedder.

Both of them do something aweful!

If you live in the south (I do) they will shed more. But if you don't want a shedder... find something else-haha.

Do a little research online to find some that won't shed "too" much =)

out of ever dog breed thoes are the dogs that shed the most! good luck. be the best owner u can be and take reallly good care of the dogs

Yes it will. Both are high shedding dogs.

I used to own a siberian husky.  The furniture was always covered in fur, and the lint roller was my best friend.  He also need at least an hour walk every day.

You're looking at two long haired breeds, or at least they are to me lol. Even my shorthaired dogs shed a lot, but with longer fur you'll notice it a lot more.

Is this a serious question because these are like the two most predominate shedding dogs there are!  Yes sir they will shed more than you can imagine!

Yes.  A lot a lot.  And the more time spent outside, the more the dog will shed, especially seasonally.  Both Akitas and Husky's have thick double coats.  Your clothes will never be free of dog hair.

Probably not as much as say a lab would, but I'm sure it does shed. However, they do have an undercoat that should be brushed out. Especially during the summer months and if you live in a hot and humid area.
