I tore my tendon a few years ago and still feel a lot of pain. I've been drinking a lot of alcohol lately I'm wondering, will it make my tendon worse? does alcohol aggravate the tendon?

  1. Alcohol actually has a reverse effect on pain, it tends to numb you.

So it shouldn't really..I guess it might raise your body temperature and that might be uncomfortable on an injured tendon.

    Cheers.

  2. no

  3. If you tore it years ago, and it's still hurting, it isn't alcohol that's bothering it, though that certainly isn't helping it, either. It sounds like the tendon has not properly healed. If you can, make an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon. He can order an MRI to visualize the tendon and see if it needs surgical repair, or if not, he may splint, brace or cast the limb to allow the tendon to heal, then prescribe physical therapy.
