Does alcohol go bad?

I have some bacardi superior that has been unopened for about a decade. Do you think that it can go bad? or will it get stronger?

Liquor like rum, vodka, whiskey, etc. will last many, many years stored properly (with the cap on, in a dark place). It will not get better in the bottle; alcohol is aged before it is bottled. For example, whiskey is aged in wood barrels which impart its specific flavor and color.

Mass-produced beer is intended to be consumed within a few months. After that, the flavor will begin to dissipate. Some higher-alcohol and bottle-conditioned beers (and wines) can be aged for years, and their flavors will become more mature and complex.

As long as the cap has been kept on it, it should be fine. It doesn't get stronger.

I had some Jose Cuervo that I found and I know it had been stored for a while and when I opened it It had the same taste but I didn't get a buzz off of a pint and I am not a big drinker.

not it will not go bad, infact alot of pricey liquors are aged for over 20 years. it will not get stronger or loose any alchohal.

Alcohol can go bad but it takes many many years...this is especially true if air can get into it. If it is air tight then probably not after just a decade!

It doesn't go bad, its doesn't get better either.  Why would you buy a bottle of rum and keep it that long in the first place?  When I buy a bottle,  I enjoy it right away.  

   Another thing that is confusing is why those that are so much against drinking go to this category at all.  You have a right to do so, but it doesn't make sense.  Save the lectures for your meetings.

beer goes bad but it has yeast and hops and that in it. alcohol I'm not thinking so at least it doesn't go bad as soon as beer.

Do I think You should be drinking? No.

If I say it will go bad will it stop you from drinking? No.

But, for your information, It is bad. Throw it in the trash before you catch a disease. Nah, Go ahead you all ready have the disease of drinking.

NO!!! as long as its not mixed with anythig else you can keep it around as long as you like
