  1. All data can have a mean and median, but not a mode. A mode is the most popular number, and not all data has repeating numbers, so a mode may not be possible. Mean=average of all the numbers, median is the middle number when put in order smallest to largest. I have no idea about the rest, tho. Sorry!

  2. All data have a mean and median, but sometimes, no mode.  For example 1, 2, 3, 4,  this has no mode.  But it does heave a mean and a median.  I think the average is the best measures, but it has issues by unusual large and small numbers.  Median is the 2nd best but it has a bigger issue..for example 1, 50, 1,000,000 this data has a median of 50, and a mean of 333,350.333  Obviously, neither data is of much help but the mean is obviously more telling.

  3. Mean is the average of all data points.  Median is the exact middle data point and mode is the most frequent data point.  Technically, if you have a group of numbers with no repetition, the data set will not have a mode because each data point only occured once in the sample.

Median is always the best measurement but it is always best to look at both the median and the mean.  Typically, if the data sample is large, the median and the mean will be almost the same.

Here is an example of why you shouldn't use only the mean.

    Temperature mean:

put left foot in 160F water

put right foot in a bucket ice 32F

Your mean temperature would be 96F but you would have a burnt left foot and a frozen right foot.
