  1. No, but usually their memory slips as they get older.  I know someone with Alzheimer's, and they deteriorate quickly and before you know it, they're on their death bed.  It's dreadful, really.

  2. No. But the older you are, the more likely you're going to get it.

According to Wrongdiagnosis.com: "About 3 percent of men and women ages 65 to 74 have AD, and nearly half of those age 85 and older may have the disease."

  3. NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  4. No, not all of them. Just some.

  5. it depends on alot of things

  6. No it depends on a lot of factors such as prior head trauma, stroke, and genetics. All can cause necrosis of brain cells that can lead to Alzheimer's

  7. No, very few, and they're all Republican.

  8. No. It is a common disease, but certainly not ALL elderly people have it. Most people's memories are not the same as they used to be when they are elderly (Note: MOST. There are some that are still as sharp as ever.), and that is a natural part of growing older. Alzheimer's is a disease with specific symptoms and diagnostic criteria.

If you suspect that someone you know has it, they should be strongly encouraged to be diagnosed by a doctor. There are many other types of Dementia as well that are not Alzheimer's.

  9. I don't think so.There's a lot of older people who have a memory sharper than an elephant.

  10. No, not all elderly people are destined to get it.  It just seems like it because we hear so much about it--especially with the rise in the elderly population.
