How can a guy that sells shoes on commission ever have become a congressman, senator or president? I don't think so. Taxes are not enough for them, they borrow trillions more and go on vacation to celebrate.

  1. Democracy is the only form of government that does not guarantee an autocracy for the rich because it leaves the power in the hands of the people. However, as Thomas Jefferson stated, it is human nature to lean towards the left because we are naturally lazy and want to offload our responsibilities. "The price of liberty is eternal vigilance". Since, for example, we in America have not been paying this price and remaining vigilant, we've elected representatives who serve their own interests rather than the people's, and pay themselves handsomely out of our treasury. Thus we now have an autocracy for the rich. But we do have the power to fix this, but we have to sift through the lies and actually take the time to learn what's best for ourselves. Shoe salesmen can achieve the offices you've listed, but because of our laziness and our reliance on TV to tell us what to do, they are at a disadvantage as far as getting votes. But Ronald Reagan is a great example of someone coming from nowhere and getting to the White House (and doing a darn good job).

  2. Government is designed to serve the rich because they have power.
