I need to know for an AP Biology summer assignment. If it isn't, does anyone have any other suggestions for a flower with a superior ovary? Thanks a bunch.

  1. A superior ovary typical in types of fleshy fruits such as true berries, drupes. Lycopersicon esculentum  (tomato is a berry) is an example of the hypogynous ovary. St Johns Wort (Hypericum calycinum) also has a berry from a hypogynous ovary.

Anthuriun genus belongs to the Araceae family. The family can be hypogynous (superior) or epigynous (inferior) ovary as part of a spadix.
