I was referring to Tesla's Discoveries. Please google "tesla longitudinal" to find out more.

  1. I could only find longitudinal eletrical devices as "device consisting of an electro-optic cell"

"Longitudinal devices have the electric field in the direction of the light beam, which passes through holes in the electrodes."

Is that what you are aking?

Well I understand what is you doubt, since eletromagnetic waves are transversal, right?

I'm reading about those, and it seems to me that they are just a piece in a larger circuit, for they need voltage control and etc; as such, they would still be desabilitated by an EMP.
