  1. At this stage, if you don't know the firms yourself, you're probably not going to make over $100k..

  2. It sounds as though you have graduated from the University of North Dakota School of Law and you are looking for a job in Fargo. If you have graduated from a top flight law school  and graudated at the top of you class with only a JD you can make in excess of $160,000. So there is no need to be on Yahoo Answers asking such a silly question.

  3. $100K? You would be horribly underpaid if you have those degrees from a decent school.

JD/MBA's are typically not looking for jobs that REQUIRE both those degrees, they are looking for jobs where their skill set makes them an asset. For example many corporate lawyers have clients in the banking industry or become involved with ibankers doing deals. They quickly see that the ibankers make tons more money and are not slaves to their desks and want those jobs. Having an MBA helps them make the leap.

A crummy law degree coupled with a crummy MBA won't yield a better job than either of those degrees alone would.

  4. Those two degrees can open many jobs for you.  Have you ever heard that certain positions in Fortune 500 companies only hire those with advanced degrees or a specialized license such as a CPA?  Both degrees can open up jobs that pay over 100k, but experience is very important as well.

  5. It should be pretty easy to clear $100,000 a year with an MBA and a JD even if you went to "North Dakota" for both.

JD/MBA's are in high demand for Corporate/Transaction law. I would start by searching larger firms in big cities (i.e. King & Spaulding or Troutman Sanders in Atlanta). I would alo search botique firms that specalize in transactions and cater to corporate clients.

I don't think your question is silly... I know how competitive things are in law school and the anxiety this can cause. Just do your best, with a JD/MBA you should have no trouble making over $100,000 a year.

I do wonder what would cause a couble of a$$holes to get on yahoo answers and act so boastful and call your question silly. Shame on them! If people don't have a serious answer, the should offer an answer at all!

    Good Luck!
