  1. No, it is usually just a bunch of lies, decorated by girls, kids, animals, young people or cars to temp you

  2. No. It does inform me of things that I perhaps had not been aware of. But that alone does not convince me to buy it. Unless it is a new chocolate that I simply HAVE to taste!

  3. It can influence one's mind to an extent, I believe in advertising, it works. Without ads life would not be so informative. It is the over and over repeating of the same add all the time that irretates me.

  4. Unless its price and quality orientated, rarely.

  5. Advertising is not there to change your mind - its there to inform you about a product and/or service.

If you already have an opinion about that product / service, an ad will probably not alter that unless a new aspect is introduced.

  6. Yes, the sleezoid sick and  twisted advertising for consumer "goods" just convinces me of what I don't want to spend money on.

  7. Nope, but that isn't really the intention of an advertisement.

A glossy magazine ad or or expensive TV commercial is intended to provoke your interest and possibly create a sub-conscious association between the product and the cool stuff in the advert.

Think of it like a resume for the product, they just want you to give it a try...If you do, and you really don't like it, then no amount of advertising can change your mind.

But in a sense, the ad was still a success because it at least got you to try it out. The phrase that used to be used for this concept was SW,SW,SW.

Some Will, Some Won't, So What!

If you try it, and don't like it...don't worry, you don't have to :)

  8. The only advert that has ever affected me was the Coca-Cola adverts. That large glass filled with ice-blocks and coke, made me drool. But otherwise i don't take much notice of adverts.:)

  9. NO - they just show one side of an argument
