travelocity lists only price options for children 2+. Are there travel restrictions for infants or am I missing something?

  1. Once they're big enough to occupy their own seat - you have to purchase the 2nd seat.  Babies that stay in your lap and do no occupy a seat are free.

  2. Any child under 2 years old is a lap child and does not require a seat. However, if the flight isn't full and the seat next to you isn't being used, nobody is going to object, or charge you extra if you put the kid in an unused seat.

  3. most of the above is true...children UNDER the age of 2 are not charged for a seat UNLESS you want to ensure there is a seat for BOTH of you.  If you REQUIRE a confirmed seat for your child, then YES, you will need to purchase a ticket.  If the child is 2 years old and older, you will need to purchase a ticket.

If you don't mind holding the child UNDER 2, on your lap, there is no charge, and as stated above, if the seat next to you is open, the child may occupy that seat.  Call the individual airline for specifics.

  4. i don't think so but you can check on the airline website .

                                         hope it helps

  5. Most airlines do not charge a fee for children 2 and under but they have to sit on your lap. You have to bring a birth certificate. Below I posted a link, the rules of southwest airlines. That is pretty much the policy with most airlines.

  6. almost all airline companies do not charge infants less than 2yrs old. If you book a flight and traveling with your baby, you only pay for 1 adult pax and when you get on board, if a seat next to you is empty, they can always be occupied by your baby. Travelocity listed prices for children above 2,because infants not reaching 2yrs is free.

  7. I thought it really just depended on whether or not you wanted the child in your lap or not. I am probably wrong though.

  8. Nope, an infant under the age of 2 is considered a lap child. They shouldn't charge you for another seat since the infant will be on you lap.
