  1. Well some yes some don't some do it could be a AC power jack[the one in your home] EM power the outlet most commonly used in planes. and DC power the kind of out let in your car for EM and DC power you will need a adapter or inverter.

  2. Ha ha, do you mean so that you can do your holiday ironing in flight????  No I don't think that they do.

  3. That depends on what you have in mind.

    AC plugs - no.

    DC- yes/ kindof.

Some of the newer airplanes have dc ports for items such as laptop computers and the like, since so many businessfolks are in the habit of continuing to overwork themselves instead of trying to take time to relax.

  4. In fact YES they do. You see them more in business jets ,etc.

But there are regular 115V AC plugs in some aircraft. The one I fly has one in the cockpit (to power our laptops) and 2 in the cabin...and 1 in the lavatory. This is very normal...they are powered from the aircrafts engine generators which go through inverters to get AC power. Alot of people try to answer questions on here that think they know something...when in fact they have never been inside of a jet before....anyway....hope this helps...

  5. Some models of aircraft can have power supplies usually low power ones for laptops etc that require an adapter to use them, however they are generally an optional extra so it depends on the airline if they will be fitted or not even if the model of aircraft can support them.

  6. Yes !

Aircraft have three types of plugs.

The first is a plug for a ground power unit or cart, whatevery you want to call it. This will supply the aircraft with electrictly when the aircraft's engine or APU is not running. This cart will usually supply 24V, which is used to start and power all of the electroncs. This 24V is also a a very high Amperage, so it can be converted to AC currrent to be used in any of the electrial plugs in the a/c.

The second is that some a/c have 12V and 24V Dc electric plugs to power equipment like coffee pots, and other equipemnt in the aircraft.

Most commerical and buisness jets also have 115V current avaliable in a electric plug like in the bathroom and in other areas on the aircraft.

The electrical power is generated from a geneartor on each engine , or an APU that will provide 24V Dc, but can be converted into 115V AC with DC/AC converter.

  7. Some do.

The CRJ series has an A/C plug located in the forward galley.  I use it to charge my cell phone all the time.  There are not usually plugs installed by the seats though, and passengers are not usually allowed to use the one or two that are on board.

  8. The only power plugs I know of are above the seats, you get headphones. Maybe in the bathroom cubicle????? I have never looked

  9. Princess, yes it does, the power is provided by generators which are run off the aircraft's jet engines.

Power plugs are used for many things on the aircraft appart from that used for flying etc. Keeping the food warm, cleaning and emercency apparatus just to name a few.

There are also independent instruments used as a back-up to the aircraft's power supply.

  10. do you mean spark plugs?

  11. some do some dont but dont expect a 240/110 supply normally 12/18 volts dc only

  12. no they dont

  13. Most aircraft do actually have 120 volt plugs near the L1 door for the cleaning crews to use.

However, you as a passenger cannot use it. If you are looking for in-seat power, go to this web site:

  14. We have them in the private jets.

  15. Large transport aircraft have ground power recepticals that are used to supply power to the aircraft when the engines or apu are not running.

Some of the largest, most advanced even have 2 or 3 recepticals to supply enough power to run avionics systems on the ground for maintenance/troubleshooting.

  16. Some do throughout, but they're mostly for the cleaning crew to plug in a vacuum. The planes I built, only certain customers (airlines) had them installed. There are usually some in the galley area.

Some airlines do offer plugins for inflight laptop charging.

  17. Can you plug items into the airplane...yes.

Can you plug the airplane in so it can run with out the APU or engines running...yes.

It all depends on how the airline has configured the airplane.  For example, Airbus 320's have 4 A/C plugs in the cockpit...older airplanes like the DC-9 do have A/C plugs in the cockpit.

  18. sorry they do not

  19. Depends on the plane.

  20. maybe for the cleaners to vacuum the floors , notice them on trains all the time.

  21. You supply power with sockets not plugs.

       Estou muito feliz!!

       Beijos!
