Does an industrial piercing hurt?

does it hurt more then just cartilage piercing

and does it easily get infected?

I barely got mine yesterday and it hurted ALOT but only for awhile then i felt my ear all hot and alot of pressure. I couldnt sleep cuz it bothered alot. Today i just feel it hot but it doesnt hurt. WEll as long as you dont hit it or touch it. SOmetimes i accidently hit it and man it hurts alot. I actually didnt get the big long barbell because they told me it would take longer to heal so instead i got two small barbells that look like the monroe bars and supposebly in 15-20 days i can get the long barbell. right now it looks weird but hey whatever it takes to heal better and faster. =D
