  1. Gable yes she most certainly does. She is playing well, is a Russian, is super Hott, and is playing last year's French Open Jr. Champion who although happens to be HOTT right now and capable of scaring Serena Williams enough to withdraw has not had many good matches to warm up in this tourni so I give the edge to Anna C.

Russian sixth seed Anna Chakvetadze beat Bulgarian qualifier Tsvetana Pironkova 6-2 3-6 6-1 on Friday to go through to the semi-finals of the Italian Open.

Chakvetadze had an easy time in the first set against the 64th ranked player, who stunned Serbian top seed Ana Ivanovic in the second round on Wednesday.

The Russian lost her concentration in the second set after Pironkova took time out to have treatment on an apparent shoulder problem.

She then stormed back in the decider, despite needing attention herself several times on the same area of the body

As of Monday she should be #6 or perhaps as good as #5.  Go Anna!

  2. Well, she's through to the semifinals, so she has a 1 in 4 chance of winning.  But I think Maria or Jelena will win.  If Chakvetadze wins the title she should be back up to #6.

  3. she lost against cornet...

  4. of course, but i would not underestimate tricky alize cornet either. but either way,one of them will indefinitely face jelena jankovic and it will be a tough task.
