  1. Most of them have multiple ABA numbers, especially with all the bank mergers.  For example my bank First Nat. Bank of Elgin merged with First Chicago and NBD and BankOne and is now Chase.  So they have routing numbers still active for a bunch of former banks, more than a dozen in the upper midwest alone.

    Unfortunately I cannot find the site that searches for ABA number by bank name at the moment.
