There is no planet Nibiru.  It's an urban legend.  NASA certainly isn't wasting their time looking at something that doesn't exist.  If it were actually out there and going to hit us in 2012, it would be easily visible to amateur astronomers - but with thousands, even millions of telescopes pointed up every night, no one has seen anything.  The gravitational effects would also be very visible - again, nothing.  There's nothing to worry about.
