  1. I learned to drive a stick '73 VW beetle in 5 minute while i was drunk.  This car has no power assisted in anything, arms strong power only.

I guess, If you really want to  know how to drive a stick, you must really tell yourself that you're gonna drive a stick.  My daughter wanted to learn how to drive my 6 speed manual but she didn't put her mind to it, so she still doesn't drive stick shift.

  2. I DON'T REALLY THINK THAT YOU WILL FIND ANYONE THAT WILL BUT.....

CONTACT YOUR LOCAL (DMV) DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.

  3. I'm not sure about schools but there are driving schools that might be willing to help. All you really need is a large parking lot with a small hill. My first car was a stick shift and my dad took me to our comunity collage parking lot at night. It was big and open plus it had a small hill at the entrance. First you want to set in the car and get the seat in the right spot for presing the clutch and the break. Now practice (with the car off) pushing the clutch in and shifing the gears one at a time. This way you will learn where the gears are and dont forget about reverse. Now some cars have a shift light telling you when to shift. The best way to tell is by the sound of the engine. When you hear the engine winding up its time to change gears.Driving a stick is an art it's something you have to feel and hear. No one can really teach  you how to drive a stick you just have to jump in there and do the bump and grind. That sounds funny but you will know what i'm talking about.Take it slow and get used to the idea that you have to change gears when your driving. Not every standard shift car is the same. The hard part about a standard shift car is the hill. This is why my dad took me to the collage it has a hill. Ok whats up with the Hill..This is hard to get down if you have never done it. Try to ballance yourself on a hill without rolling backwards and hitting someone else. This is an art to get down everybody does it different. Some people hold the clutch out just enough so the car is not rolling back or not going forward. Some people will take the car out of gear and hold the brake and when it's time to move they put the car in gear and quickly pop the clutch and away they go. I'm not sure what is the best way but just find the one that works for you.The best way to learn is to practice and dont give up. Once that right hand on the gear shift and your left leg on the clutch start working together you will be on your way..

    Good Luck...

  4. here i will explain it as good as i can.

to start the car you must push in the clutch (the peddle on the far left) all the way in or when you hit the starter the in gen will flud.also make sure that the car is out of gear. now put it in first gear and SLOWLY let up on the clutch but if you don't give it any gas than the car will die. so now that you are moving listen to the en gin and when the en gin gets a high pitch sound than push in the clutch and shift into third gear. do not let up to fast or the car will start to jerk for a start. than continue this step until you reach the speed you want. to stop you put it out of gear (don't forget the clutch!) and push the brakes. But if you are in the country than you can shift down for a stop. you will put in the next lowest gear until it is a steady throttle (the in gen isn't revved)than shift down again. using this proses stops the vehicle without waring down the brakes.

NOTE. you will not push the gas peddle far shifting down.

Once you get the hang of it, it is as easy as riding a bike.

  5. no schools

  6. Just rent a car and drive it around the rental agency parking lot. Rent a 500HP mustang with a stick, youll be shifting in no time.

  7. Its just something you learn. The are not going to waste funding just to teach something as silly and easy as stick shift.
