Does any of you had a sweat test done for your baby/

my baby will get tested for cf(cystic fibriosis) because he never gain any weight,he is almost17 months he is 18.63 pounds. i'm scared to death.

Yes, my son had one done at 11 months, along with blood work.  The sweat test is nothing to worry about... it doesn't hurt the baby or anything.  My son's sweat test came back fine... another one of my friend's babies had to have it too...  it also came back fine.  Her baby is 13 months and about 16 lbs.  I have my son seeing a dietician and he is on an extremely high fat diet.  He is now 15 months and 20 lbs.

There is a chance that your child has CF if the docs are checking for it.  But, from personal experience I think they are just extra vigilant in checking to make sure they don't have it.

That's about what my daughter weighed at 17 months, and she's tall.  I hope that's not all you're basing him possibly having CF on.
