Does any one else find this? and find it annoying with their baby!!?

Question

ever since i have became a first - time Mum to my now 9 month old son i have noticed everytime nearly i some one speaks to me about my son either strangers , admirers , friends and family they always say " aahhh!! is he good??" why is this? does that mean there's such a thing as a bad baby?? because i don't think there is it's horrible as soon as they are born there given labels. does it mean that because my son is a happy contented baby and never cries etc he is a " good baby??" what's everyone else's thoughts and do people find this??

i generals just smile and nod my head! or say yeah after her mlk and vodka!

haha i agree, people say that to me all the time too, as if anyone would ever say oh no he's a horror! a very naughty little boy lol

*lol* No one has ever said that to me, but I would probably not be too nice.  You should just say "He's not expired yet" or "Its still before his best before date"

I hate when people ask the baby questions, am I supposed to answer?

And "Oh what a beautiful baby" what do I say to that?  Thanks?  Its not like its anything I did.

ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!! I can't believe this is one of the first questions everyone asks. Are you really going to say "No my baby is horrible and cries all of the time"? It's a Baby!!! What really surprises me is that these are people who have kids of their own!

Haha, I actually know what you mean. I know what people mean when they say it, they mean does he cry alot or is he a content baby, but it's definatly worded wrong as you said. Just because a baby cries or is high maintenance (like mine! hehe) it certainly does not make them "bad". I agree- I don't really like when people ask that question. I always just say "oh yes!"

I think that you are thinking far too much into this - let's face it, there isn't actually that much you can say to/about a nine month old baby so people tend to say "ah, isn't he lovely, isn't he happy, isn't he good"  It's just a figure of speach. Try not to think too much into things.  The truth is that some babies are happier than others, some cry more, some cry less - it's not a question of good or bad.

Oh people say all kinds of junk to you when you have kids. I was walking with my friends little girl a few years ago and was approached and complimented on how cute she was and told "doesn't she look like her mum!" - well yes she does, but you wouldn't know because you're not looking at her mum.

I didn't say anything. People are just interested and trying to be nice, if you say he's good they will coo over him and adore him, if you say he's little devil they will sympathize with you and say something about their own non-sleeping child (that's almost always it, their baby didn't sleep for three straight years). Then they'll coo over him anyway.

Just be nice, they mean no harm. There's no such thing as a bad baby but the opposite of good baby isn't bad baby anyway, it's crying baby.

Yeah, I had that happen.  With my first I would smile and say yeah, sometimes we would be stuck having stranger goo over her for 15 minutes!  Everytime anyone talked or even looked at my second she would scream so loud the person would take off in the other direction.

No, there is no such thing as a "Bad Baby" however, there is such thing as a "High Maintenance Baby" and what that means is the baby is not content for long periods of time, demands more attention than most babies, fussy alot, likes to be held, likes lots of attention, very clingy, very needy....My Daughter is 9.5 mths old and she is a "High Maintenance Baby", so no, I dont find it annoying, its just a question.

lol I get this all the time, and like everyone Else of course who in there right mind would say there baby is not good, I guess all they mean is if they are colic and keep you up more than what they should that kind of thing still it is an annoying stupid question
