  1. ur an @sshole.

  2. Who is "they" and "we" and "other countries"? People get internet all over the world, you know? Be a bit more specific.

  3. Not really. Its their choice. For example, there were two brothers competing in the Olympics this year, but for different countries. They were both born in Ukraine(?), then immigrated to another European country. One chose to represent his homeland, the other chose to represent the country he immigrated to. They both had citizenship for both countries.

...And back to the question. Some of the professional basketball players like Yao Ming don't even have U.S. citizenship. Yao Ming does have Chinese citizenship, though, so he either plays for them or doesn't play at all. There's an Olympic rule stating you must be a citizen of a so-and-so country in order to compete for them.

  4. I SAY IF YOU WORKED HARD TO GET WHERE YOUR AT WHO SHOULD JUDGE WHERE THEY PLAY! USA

  5. No.

  6. Well they can't represent the USA since the law states only citizens can play for their country.

And why do you care? The USA is one game short of the gold.

  7. It's their choice.

  8. It's their choice really. Just like when pro players decide to play overseas or international players decide to play in the NBA or WNBA

  9. If they are not a citizen of the USA then they should not compete for the USA.  Olympians compete for the country they are citizens of.  Who cares where they train or become famous?  That's not up to us (the public) to decide.  Not to mention those professional players come back to play for our teams and entertain us for the rest of the time.  The Olympics are only 2 weeks, every 4 years. Give them that much.

  10. NO, I think it's awesome. It internationalizes the game. I love it.

    I'm American...

  11. No.  They're playing for the countries where they have their citizenship.  The NBA benefits from having these guys come here to play basketball.

  12. No, if they are not citizens of this country

Did you watch any swim meets, most swimmers seem to train in the US, not the country there are from

I do not like professional basketball playing in the olympics at all, even for the US

  13. i think it is wrong that the a 16 year old won the diving portion. how wrong is that. and it is so unfair.
