I'm sick of spaghetti sauce / tomato sauce. There's got to be something else I can do with pasta that won't take a long time or cost a fortune.

    Try these.

  5. why don't you make an alfredo sauce? they are good. you can make it from scratch, or better still, buy a jar at the grocery store. its a nice cream sauce-very good with any pasta.

  6. Pesto(s) sound tasty, as does butter w/several cloves of garlic sliced thinly and sauteed in the butter.

    Another..

Saute your noodles (w/or w/o the garlic -- with, of  course!) and then add cottage cheese -- just long enough to begin to heat it up and not to melt it (well melt just a bit).  Serve w/toasted bread (bagel, Italian, French).

    HTH.

  7. pesto

    .

Chop up basil, garlic, olive oil, a little lemon juice and capers and toss with sauted peppers and onions and your favorite noodle(i sometimes toss in shrimp)

cook pasta, cool in fridge and toss with your favourite salad vinegarette and i add a can of mixed veggies or frozen(flash cook them in the microwave and chill with the noodles.

cream of mushroom soup, and a can of drained tuna and peas. serve hot. add cheese!

noodles, velveeta, a can of diced tomatoes, mix, stick in oven at 350, when almost done, place buttered slices of bread on top and put back into toast the bread, great for dipping. You can add a can of chicken for protein.

make your normal stir fry veggies and or meat and toss with pasta instead!

noodles, ham(lunchmeat, diced, whatever you have) canned chicken, and a mix of your two fav white shredded cheeses, its like a quick version of cordon bleu, and my dad loves to crumble ritz crackers over it right before he takes it out of the oven (350 for 20 min)

  8. Pasta + EVOO + Cheese of choice

    Oh fresh garlic.

Also saute in EVOO + butter squash, onions, and/or mushrooms.

  9. Go to the supermarket and get 2 or 3 pounds of boneless chicken breast and  like 2 jars of Ragu Romano & Parmaesan Cheese Sauce. Cook your chicken and cut into bite size pieces. Add it to the sauce and pour over cooked pasta. You can also add a packet of pesto sauce to the Cheese sauce. It's will look horrible when you add the pesto sauce, but it is oh so delicious.

  10. add veggies..corn or peas and butter garlic rosemary and parsley and a little lemon juice serve with those tiny little ready to eat shrimp you thaw in hot water

add a side salad and bread

    glass of white wine

    yum
