Does any one have any ideas as far as music to play for wedding and reception please help?

having a reception in my backyard my friends downloading the music for us but we need more ideas as far as what kind of what are some good songs to get everyine mingling and having fun,,,also i need wuiet music for dinner time any ideas

YMCA by the Village People is a standard at weddings ...  try fun novelty songs like The Twist (Chubby Checker) and some good rock & roll (Rock Around the Clock and some Jerry Lee Lewis or Chuck Berry songs);  also throw in a couple of disco (Saturday Night Fever).....for dinner music, you might want "soft rock" (or "elevator music"), although people DO dance during dinner, if it's a good song!.....You can probably find CDs of the greatest hits of each: 50s, 60s and 70s on eBay at a reasonable price (even used)
