Does any one have expert knowledge of how long a systemic pesticide stays (active) after applied to a tree?

What I really need to know is: HOW LONG IS THE SYSTEMIC INSECTICIDE or PESTICIDE ACTIVE in the tree before it wears off???

  1. Some have a warning on them not to be used on fruit trees.  I heard it takes two years for the fruit to be edible.  Scary, huh!
