I live in New York, and would like to have my Junior Prom on a yacht. Does anyone have info as to which companies have the best boats/prices, as well as the price range in which I would be working in? Thanks

P.S. We are expecting between 150-200 people

  1. You know, I'm just going to answer for the heck of it. You can probably go onto Yahoo! search engine and type in what you want and it'll probably come up, then you'll just have to compare rates. A little trick to know is that if someone contacts the charter company, tell them how many people you're bringing and they might give you a special rate because of the amount of people. Then, figure out which one is cheapest. Now, what I will tell you is that having your prom on a yacht is awesome. My senior prom was on a yacht and it was perfect with the sunset, stars, music, etc. If they serve food on the yacht then you could probably get the charter company to cater it as well...that's two birds with one stone. Then, either find a DJ or maybe, just maybe, the boat will have a good stereo on it so that you wouldn't need one. Just trying to throw things out at you. The only thing you have to worry about is weather! So make sure you have some sort of backup. Either way, a yacht makes for a good prom, so go for it!! You're young, live it up while you can. Good Luck!

  2. the klondike princess out of new rochelle does proms, and prices are pretty good

  3. I doubt they will take on the liability of having a prom on a yacht.  Good luck anyway, and you better have deep pockets for one h**l of an expensive prom.

  4. Sparkman & Stephens, Inc. have office in NY.

You can call them by this phone 1-212-661-6170 or read info about charters here http://www.sparkmanstephens.com/charter....

  5. High schoolers and their parents have better things to do with their money than to spend it on such a extravagant expense.  Hold the prom at the YMCA or in the school's gym.   Same goes for hiring limos and spending gross amounts of money on clothes.  Teenagers need to learn the value of money.  Teach your classmates that the spending time with each other is more important than where it's held and how much money you spend.
