  1. I had mild dysplasia before I got pregnant and while I was pregnant.

It did take longer for me to get pregnant but it was not because of the dysplasia.

There was no trouble during the pregnancy due to the dysplasia. It does not cause any problems as long as it not cancerous.

They did a pap when I first got pregnant and it came back still that I had the dysplasia. So they did a colposcopy (with out the biopsy.)

After I had my daughter, at the 6 week check up, they redid the pap and it was gone. They said the trauma of childbirth usually gets rid of the bad cells and it did!

BUT I had repap 4 months after my 6 week check up and it was back. So I had another colposcopy. Finally almost 1 year after, I got the all clear, I could go back to yearly paps.

I went for my yearly pap earlier this year and it was back with a vengance and had turned into pre-cancerous (high grade) cells and I had to have a LEEP.

You will have to wait at least 3 months to try to conceive after you have a LEEP procedure. There is small chance that it will cause you to have an incompetent cervix and your cervix will not be able to bear the weight of carrying a baby and it will open early in your pregnancy (around 20 weeks usually is the first signs of it.) But overall, it is not a bad procedure. The worst part is the shot they give you to numb your cervix, it has epinephrine in it and makes your heart beat out of your chest and makes you dizzy and the double speculum they use. Good luck and I hope you get it handled and you can be done with it for good!

  2. I had mild dysplasia years ago before my pregnancies.  I did not have leep but the doctor did cut away all the "pre-cancerous cells".  All of my Paps have been normal since. I had no problems getting pregnant and in fact did get pregnant many times very quickly.   I had 3 miscarriages unrelated to this.  I had 1 healthy baby girl with no problems, no cervical issues in pregnancy at all.  My Pap since that pregnancy was normal as well.  My sister was diagnosed with dysplasia and was due to get the leep when she got pregnant, also no problems with her pregnancy.  She was induced and it did take a long time for her to fully dilate but she eventually did, I don't know if that was related to the dysplasia or not.  She was supposed to have the dysplasia taken care of after he pregnancy but she didn't and now she is pregnant again, hopefully all will go well for her.   Both of her pregnancies happened whithin 1 or 2 cycles of trying.  Good Luck
