  2. Have you tried orientaltrading.com?

  3. I have been planning my sons Mario Party for a few months now and will share what we have come up with so far.

We are doing our own decorations. Stars purchased from the homeschool department of the dollar store hanging from every area of the house and exterior.

I also bought large rectangle plastic table cloths from the dollar store that I will put game scene's on and then attach to the fence the day of the party.

Mario fire plants made of dowels, foam balls and salt dough and painted. Boxes painted gold with question marks hanging from anywhere possible with coat hangers inside.

    Games:

We are doing a Yoshi egg hunt with easter eggs painted with white dots. Gold coins will be inside.

1up find, with gold boxes with green musheroom's and gold coins hidden inside.

Musical chairs to Mario theme'd music and 5 gallon buckets painted green like Mario tubes. (buckets will be used for decoration when not in use)

I got Green and Red hats for $1 each from Michaels that we will cut M's and L's out of felt and apply, along with canvas green and red tote bags also from Michaels that we will apply the felt letters to.

We will probably play a few other games along with Mario/Sonic olympics and each time someone wins they will get their first pick of the next prize.

1st pick will be their hat and tote bag with mustache

2nd pick they get to choose from plastic characters purchased from Ebay

3rd pick they get to choose a different type of plastic character purchased from Ebay

4th pick will be their choice of character key chain also purchased from Ebay

At each game all children will get to choose a prize, winner gets first choice.

We will be serving spaghetti with garlic bread, pizza and salad. 1 cooler filled with Yoshi's juice (capri sun) another filled with Mario mix (soda's) and another filled with Water world (water).

The paper product's are way too expensive off the internet, so we just went with white and red solid colored plates, napkins and table cloth.

That's all I can think of right now. His party is July 12th, so if you want any other updates of what I come up with between now and then shoot me an Email : thebeans1116@aol.com

  4. Search the web for Mario graphics and print labels on stickers for each plastic party cup. Get red plates and transparent plates, print Mario graphics and glue them on the red plates and then glue the clear plastic plates over that. A red tablecloth, yellow napkins, and blue cups will keep up with the theme. Draw or print out giant Mario characters on poster boards, cut them out and put them up all over the walls. In Super Mario Brothers there are "Poinks" (pink piggy things you fill with water and pop over enemies). Get pink balloons and use construction paper and glue sticks to add eyes, curly tails and pig snouts. In every Mario game there are eight red coins to collect on each level, so use red plastic cake plates and hang them in a zig zag pattern on the ceiling, making sure to number them like the red coins are numbered. On the other side, print out a small sign that reads "Billy (or your child's name) is Five." It'll look like a Mario level hanging above your heads. For party favors, buy all sorts of Mario candies from Gamestop. You can also go to the craft store and get styrofoam eggs and hand-paint them to look like Yoshi eggs (Avon has Mario and Yoshi plush zipper pulls). Might take some work, but buy a bunch of red baseball caps and big M's from the craft store. Find some that are peel and stick or iron on and give those out to all the kids. Serve pizza (of course) and Luigi's Real Italian Ice (instead of ice cream). Make different gallons of Kool-Aid and label them "Yoshi Juice." For the cake, use a large round cake and several "wedge" shaped pieces along with cupcakes to reproduce a Shine Sprite (shaped like a sherriff's badge, except it's yellow with eyes). Activities can include water-based games. Buy water guns and let the kids have shoot outs in the back yard. Paint some Mario enemies on wooden signs and put them all around the yard as targets.

  5. go to a video game store and  see if they have any cardboard cutouts or posters of mario (& friends)  have it scanned and scaled or reversed (for diversity).  you can have this image turned into an edible cake overlay online for not much money.

maybe also make some mushroom cushions or something.  i'm sure you've seen the game.  just emulate what you see on the screen.  it's pretty basic designs.
