  1. My primary suggestion would be practicing what the instructor will go over, such as adjusting mirrors, where the lights are, ignition, etc... All the little basic details at first and then for the test its self I would suggest driving around the neighborhoods near your dmv, as this is where you instructor will take you and if you have an idea of where one way streets are etc... you'll be more prepared.

Practice coming to a smooth stop behind the white lines at intersections, always using your blinker, not following too closely and always looking over your shoulder and using all your mirrors when making lane changes. Above all just remain calm and i'm sure you'll do fine. Good luck.

  2. turn your tires towards the trees when you are parking on a hill...do the speed limit...stop at railroad crossings...talk to the instructor like their your best friend asking about family and kids...they like that...i messed up big time...i was speeding parallel parked wrong and everything but me and her talked like we knew each other for ever and i passed

  3. Both are right. I have found myself to think of a instructor as a person not as the enemy. Shake their hand and be friendly. Portray self confidence and not arrogance.

Main thing is just to relax, think of your Grandmother driving. If you get the chance use your grnadmothers car. I did and passed with flying colors. Good Luck!

  4. Don't be nervous. Take a deep breath if you do get nervous. Make sure you have gotten plenty of practice. Know where all  your gears and operating controls are: the break pedal, turn lights, gas pedal, etc. Adjust your seat and mirrors first and make sure you can see behind you well.  Things to to look forward to on the driver's test: backing out in a straight line (without the use of mirrors), making turns smoothly and into the appropriate lanes, parallel parking, being able to change lanes (make sure to glance back and to check your mirrors before you change lanes..) and good luck!

  5. Fasten your seat belt...first thing. Make sure your instructor has his or her seat belt on too. Adjust your mirrors. Radio OFF!! Leave your cellphone at home..or make sure it is turned OFF!! NO SMOKING. Don't try to make small talk to the instructor..pay attention to your driving!!  Scan your mirrors ...rearview and sides...frequently. BOTH hands on steering wheel...at 9 and 3...or 8 and 4 o'clock.  Relax and concentrate on your driving. If you have nice legs..it wouldn't hurt to wear a short skirt....just kidding on that one..good luck!!
