Does any one know Jeff O'Neill?

Question

I found him on NHL 2K8 for ps3 and his stats were pretty good but I want to know from anyone who has seen him play if he's a really good player?

Wow, I figured he'd be retired by then.

He was a great player in Carolina a few years back,

but I only remember him as a Maple Leaf..

Where he was a first liner.

Good player, probably REALLY old on 2K8.

yea he was captain of carolina in the 2000's and during the lockou t was traded to leafs, then leafs put him in free agent because he sucked a defensive skill. he was good tho. atleast 40 to 60 points a season and he only like 33

He's a goal scorer.... nothing more... think of a comparison like... Petr Sykora or Ryan Smyth. He'll get you 25-35 goals a season and around 60 points.

he WAS good. past his prime now. couldn;t do much with the leafs, returned to carolina, not doing much there either.

He used to play on the carolina hurricanes.  He also had a stint with the toronot maple leafs.  I would classify as a top six forward in his prime.  He was a decent forward.  He was gritty but he was not a huge scorer.   He did get some goals some assists, won a few fights but he wasn't a fighter.  Decent all around guy but I am sure he must be retired.  I doubt anyone here knows him personally just what we saw on the ice.

I knew a Jeff O'Neill in school.  He was a lousy hockey player.  Probably not the same person.
