Why do you need to use a proxy?  If it's to access myspace, etc at school then I would forget it as you may well have your account hacked.  Think about it, why would someone provide a proxy service for free?  It's going to be costing them either hosted space or home bandwidth, so what are they getting out of it - are they monitoring all the traffic that goes through the proxy?  I bet they are.  I see quite a lot of questions from school kids on here saying "my myspace/hotmail/bebo/etc account has been hacked, how has this happened" and I bet 90% of the reasons are proxies.  Schools block myspace, etc for several good reasons, including one: the kids are supposed to be doing school work, two: they are very bandwidth heavy (so next time the school internet is slow, think about why this is, it's probably people using proxies to look at graphics-heavy websites).

If this isn't the reason, then please add more detail, but if you are trying to bypass the school's web filters, then my advice is don't, unless you want to let other people into your accounts.
