  1. Indeed....Steiners know to have alot of fun on cruise ships ;)

  2. I was going to tell you about Steiner who seems to have a lock on most of the cruise ships but wow!  a Steiner employee!  I lived onboard a ship for awhile and the best hairstylist I ever had was my Steiner guy on that ship!

  3. Hello i have worked in the spas onboard 4 different ships ove rthe past 3 years, it is amazing, you should get in touch with steiner transocean....str.co.uk the are an amazing company, if you need a proffesional opinion just ask away!

  4. Don't know really but  i imagine you MUST be employed. You wouldnt want to work on a commission basis in such an environment. I would go direct to the 'top' with your questions. Contact P & O or whoever, and find out. Sounds like a great job. I imagine that you would have to be fairly highly qualified - electrical stuff etc.

  5. I worked for Steiner for 5 years on ships.

it is a fantastic experience but you have to be willing to work hard. It is mostly commission and tips based but saying that if you're committed to making money you can make a  lot.  And of course its tax free (I used to do a self assessment tax return and you can claim foreign earning deduction for seafarers). Which does make a huge difference.

Your contract is usually 8 months for the first contract and you will have to go to the training academy in Harrow which is really for an indefinite amount of time, some people stay for a couple of weeks some are there for much longer.  It really depends on how quickly you learn the treatments and how quickly you pick up on the retail training. A lot of your money is earned through selling products and doing that depends on how you think about that really.  The Products are excellent quality and I still use them even now I have to pay full price!  They do Elemis treatments and La Therapie (facials), Ionithermie (anti cellulite treatment).

Seadays are the hardest work, you will be expected to work from 8am until at least 8pm with a 1 hour lunch break.  And you will usually be busy all day long which can be a killer if you're on massage.

The lifestyle is fab too, on most ships you can use all of the passenger facilities except the casino.  You will have to share a cabin which is usually small with bunks, but you usuallly get a TV.  And of course you will be in amazing places on yuor days off and see things that your friends at home will only dream about.

All in all, it is fantastic and I could not recommend it enough.

Post a addition to your question if you want any more info and I'll give you my email address.
