I have noooooo clue how I should even start decorating it.

Most of the web sites want to sell you something and tell you very little. I would go to a barns and nobel or go online and see what they have in that area. There is a magazine out called (decorating small cozy areas) I saw it at the grocery store at the check out line. I am a decorator, especially in faux finish.
