  2. What part of Florida is your niece in?

You can try a few sources.

Some school districts (or individual schools, depending on how her county organizes things) will give away books that they don't want.  We've gotten old, tattered books this way, but we've also gotten some pristine, unused books for free this way.

Try the public library.  Florida has a lot of homeschoolers (probably because it is generally ranked about 48th when the states are ranked for education).  So, the public libraries are used a lot by homeschoolers and many of them carry a lot of useful books and other resources.

Also, the public libraries in our area each have an area where they sell off donated books to raise money for the library.  I've occasionally found texts in them.

Try joining the closest Freecycle (tm) group.  Freecycle is a free, online group that has local chapters.  You can find the one nearest to you by going to www.freecycle.org   The groups are designed to promote recycling by having people give away things that they would otherwise throw away.  On our local Freecycle group, I've seen people advertise textbooks and such.

Or try the local chapter of Craigslist.  It is at www.craigslist.com   Again, it has local chapters and is free to join.  It is a classified ad group.  I've seen textbooks and such listed there either for free or at a low cost.

Find local support groups.  Find them NOW.  This is the time of year when many of them are having used curriculum sales.  Contact several (even if they don't sound like you'd want to join them, you can still find out about the used curriculum sales and go to them).  And local support groups can tell you about other local resources.  For example, in one county in Florida that I know of, there is a recycling center that often has textbooks in it for free.  Locals will be more likely to know of such places.

Some general websites that might be of use to you (though not for textbooks or worksheets) are
