Does any one know how to look up how much a person actually paid for a house that they bought in foreclosure?

I found a house the man wants 59,999 it's in really bad shape whole house needs to be redone no appliances roof leaks needs new batrooms everthing in this house needs redone I don't think it is worth 25,000 if you know how to look up what he paid for it let me know okay It's in hHilliard Florida by the wayif it helps

  1. Your county tax assessor's office will have records of purchase price.  

    What the purchase price was irrelevant, if the house is priced appropriately for the market, that is the price.

    what he paid is really irrelevant, what is relevant is how much house is worth and how much you are willing to pay

    can go to county recorder of deeds and look up deed and transfer stamps

  4. Way to go.  Always do your research before making an offer.  Here is the Nassau County Property Appraiser website.  Click on the left called 'Search Records'.  You can put the address in and it will show the tax records so you can see what he paid.

    I'm sure in that condition, you can offer very low and make him counter offer.  There's probably not a lot of people looking for a fixer up like that in this market.

  5. If he bought it from an agent, your buyer’s agent can easily access this data though the MLS.

    Otherwise, you can go to your county courthouse and get the info.
