Does any one know if I can carry an artist portfolio (21" x 26") on an airplane?

I am moving and would like to carry my artist portfolio, which measures 21" x 26" on the plane to assure that it is not mishandled. Does anyone know if they'll allow this, or has anyone successfully done so?

i say that they won't aloow it, it just a big thing

Contact the airline because it depends on the aircraft type.  There are some aircraft where that would fit in the overhead bins with no problem or where the flight attendant could stow it for you in a closet.  Other aircraft (especially commuter aircraft) don't have the same stowage options and/or have narrower bins and there would be literally nowhere to put it.

Probably  not.  I don't think it will fit in the overhead bins.  Best to contact the carrier and give exact dimensions, including thickness.
