  1. The current age of onset of the menarche is 12 years 11 months in the UK. There is a variation between countries.

  2. It all depends on your own body, average ages are between 9 and 16

  3. Normal range is between 8 and 17 years old.  Some girls start earlier, some start later - average is probably between 12 and 14.

  4. 90% of girls have their first period between 11 and 14.

10% will have theirs before 11.

Anything between 10 and 16 is considered normal.

First period before 10 or after 16 is something that can be due to body weight issues.  If a girl is too thin, she may not have enough body fat to menstruate.  If a girl gets her period before 10, it may be because of obesity.

  5. Its different for all sorts of girls bodies and hormones some devlop faster than others some dont

Most girls start their first periods at about 12 or 13; however some girls may have periods by the age of 8 and still others may not have a period until they are 14 or 15. Girls who have not menstruated by the age of 16 should see their health care providers to determine if there is an underlying condition causing primary amennorhea.
