  1. There is a long list of couples willing to pay dearly to adopt a baby. I have never heard of grants to encourage adoption.

  2. Yes...lots of grants available.  One you might want to look into is from Christian music artist Steven Curtis Chapman. His organization is called Shoshannah's Hope. I am spelling that wrong, but if you google his name and adoption I'm sure you can pull the website up.

  3. Below I have included a website that does loans for adoptions and one that does grants. All you have to do is to put adoption grants in the search browser and you will find lots of others.

  4. No, but if you adopt through foster care, the state covers all fees.

  5. There are LOADS and LOADS of grants for adoption. As well as a tax credit for each adopted child of up to 11,500. Check out adoption.com and other adoption sites for financial assistance. Most of the grants are given by religious groups and SOME require that you be Christian.

  6. Are you serious? You can't even adopt a baby without proving you are financially stable and earn enough to properly support one.

  7. Good luck to you.  Adoption is enormously expensive and insurance doesn't cover it, so it is difficult for many good parents to adopt.

There is a tax credit for over 10 thousand dollars if you adopt, and it can be rolled over to the next year if you don't use it in one year.  Foster care is another option because adopting a foster child is usually free.

  8. If you can't afford to adopt, you should probably let these children stay with their families.

If you MUST adopt, try adopting through foster care.  It's free.

Before you go any further, please do some research into adoption from the ADOPTEE's perspective.  Adoption isn't all it's cracked up to be for the child who feels abandoned.

  9. I wouldn't call it a "grant" but in my area if you adopt from social services there is a per month payment that the parents receive for the child until the child is 18.  It's equivalent to what Foster Parents get for monthly maintenance and it's designed to off set costs and prevent against "adoption family breakdown" due to financial strain.  Many people use it as they wish and still many others bank it for the child's college fund.
