  1. i'm going to go with the big man upstairs ^^^^^^

  2. The grass on the greens of nice country clubs used to be either some form of bent grass in cooler climates and bermuda or bluegrass in warmer areas.  The bent is a finer grained grass, but the bermuda and bluegrass stand up better to heat.  Recently though, courses have started going to hybrid grasses such as TifEagle that incorporate the best of both worlds.  I dont know who to thank, but I'm assuming it was some botanist that loved golf as much as we do.

  3. Depends on if you are an evolutionist, or a creationist.

  4. the first courses had greens made of shorter fescue grasses well grazed by sheep with a gopher hole in it. Older courses used newer fescue and other natural grasses. newer courses often use a combination of hybrid grasses and several kinds of grasses that grow and flourish under specifiec regional climate conditions. You should thank your local superintendant for their hard work keeping it looking and playing so nice. they like that stuff.
