  1. Typically, you have to be 16 to work in France, and night shifts are forbidden as well as certain types of jobs (repetitive factory work for instance).

    Some exceptions allow 14 and 15-year-olds to work:

    - if they are apprentices as part of their vocational school program (15)

    - if they work under the supervision of their parents in the family business outside school hours (14)

    - if they work only a few hours a week or occasionally, outside school hours (14)

    There are other exceptions for child actors and artists but France has one of the strictest laws on child labor. Commercials are often shot abroad for that reason.

    In French the question would be "à partir de quel âge peut-on travailler à temps partiel en France?"
