  1. If it's a class schedule given out by the school, you may have to contact them directly by calling the teacher, or school counselor.

I would simply go to the school, and see the teacher, who in turn has to show you the syllabus, and materials, or textbooks they are going to use.

This gives parents also a good idea what their children are being taught.

Take your daughter with you in case she has questions that need to be answered as well.

  2. If she's ever had problems academically in school, it could be Academic Intervention Services, although it'd be surprising that the school would do that without you knowing about it.

You really have to talk to the school as AIS could stand for different things. It may be their own special acronym for study hall or who knows what.

  3. Adult Independent Study?

    That's a guess.

  4. I tried to do a google search on it, but really didn't come up with anything that looked like it fit.

However, I can't help but think of the episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" where Ray was upset that his wife was always late leaving the house to go somewhere. He told her that his dad always had a policy of leaving at a certain time "AIS". He explained that meant "@$$ In Seat", if yours wasn't in the seat of the car at that time, yours got left behind.
