  1. Is the 'stalk' of corn still laying there on the ground by the hole or is the entire stalk gone? How tall was the stalks to begin with? It is possible that groundhogs, moles or voles are eating the roots, and possibly the plant if the plant was small enough for the whole thing to be eaten, but if it was a very tall plant, it is possible that a larger animal has ripped it out of the ground to eat it, or there is even the possibility of it being stolen and replanted in someone else's garden, as corn has shallow roots.  Look for foot prints around the area.

  2. ஐ: mmm pigs and chickens i believe that what my aunt feeds hers sometimes

  3. Chickens love corn!

  4. something pulled the stocks out or ate the entire thing? kind of wierd   maybe a dog?

  5. It's raccoons. They will pull down a stalk, take a few bites from an ear of corn, and move on to another. They can destroy a whole patch of sweet corn in one night.  They are smart, they know exactly when the corn is ready to eat.  Ornery critters!!

  6. LOL...When we lived in the Country our German Shepard Annie used to get into our neighbors garden and pick individual ears of corn...bring them back to our house and peel (husk) them and eat just the kernals like a person...it was hilarious...of course our neighbor didn't think so..so my husband put up a chicken wire fence for our neighbor so she (Annie) couldn't get in...then the next season we noticed our neighbor would throw corn-on-the-cob over the fence to her because she looked so sad when she would watch him picking it! SO could be a dog.

  7. rabbits, mice, rats, chickens, any birds, field mice, door mice, pigs, cows, corn is a well loved food eaten by all.
