Does any one know what the rose is called that is vary dark blood red almost black?

the petals look like velvet and it has a sweet smell. the leaves are smooth and dark green and glossy also they are broad leaves. i can only give the decription of it its not a don juan this rose i am decribing its darker.

There are several dark roses as you describe. One is Ink Spots, another is called Black Magic. There are several more; including the famous Taboo.
