Does any one know where I can find the actual numbers of the homeless in America?

I have a project and I need to know the nimber of homeless in America from 1998 to 2008. So, can anyone reccomend a website where i can find the statistics?

if a person is homeless they have no address.therefore you can not find out how many homeless people there are in the u.s.a.

According to the U.S. Census report called "Emergency and Transitional Shelter Population: 2000"

1990: 178,638

2000: 170,706

(The census is only done every ten years.)

It is an impossible assignment.  Homeless means they do not stay in one place, so how could you count.  The number fluctuates constantly.  Any numbers printed anywhere are only a guess.
