  1. i hate betta

    mine refused to eat!

    my advice:breed goldfish

    u have too many girls

and r they in the same tank?

it could be the season cuz they breed in the monsoon season in ASIA

    or its not happy

get it like a sweet castle or some fun fake plants

  2. You need to separate the two fish you plan to spawn and condition them with high protein food for about two weeks prior to putting them together.  Do not let them see each other the whole time you are conditioning them.

When you see the female getting fat with eggs, place her in a glass mason jar in the male's tank.  If he is ready to breed he will begin making his bubble nest.  Once he has the nest built, you can very slowly release the female into his tank.

Watch them very closely, if she is not ready to spawn, he will chase her down and do a lot of damage to her, possible even killing her.  In the wild, males and females do not stay together or even near each other.

Once they have spawned and the male has put the eggs into the nest, remove the female and allow the male to take care of the eggs and the nest.  He will even take care of the fry after they hatch until they start swimming all over the place and he can't keep track of them anymore.  Then remove him to another tank and feed your betta fry 3-4 times a day until they are about an inch long.

Feel free to email me if you have more questions, I will be glad to help you any way I can.

  3. Male betta fish will only breed when they are ready

they will make a sort of foamy bubble nest and the top of their tank when they are happy and want to breed

you will only need 1 female for the breeding process at a time once u have left the fish alone allowing them to maybe breed transfer the betta female to a seperate tank. when you see her babys swimming around transfer the femal into a seperate tank the babys will be fine on their own the female will most likely eat them if their in the same tank.

  4. take a look at www.betatalk.com they will set you straight on breeding bettas

  5. Are you sure it's a female? Most pet stores only have male fish.

  6. your male needs to make a bubble nest, then you put the female in.. not all 7
