Yes I remember it. It was a travesty how the judge gave the burglars a longer sentence than the rapist. Even when he (the Judge) retired he called his judgment on that case the "one great blemish" on his career.

Jill Saward is an awesome woman. Not because of how she suffered but because of her dignity and strength in the aftermath.

I used to work with the sister of one of the victims.

Yes I remember it was reported widely at the time. I believe that it was the vicar's daughter who was raped. I think her name was Julie Saward. If I rememebr correctly the original motive was burglary.

Yes I remember it as well. I didn't remember the year, or the names, or the fact it was in Ealing either - but I remember the incident - the vicarage rape. The girl eventually went public I recall and appeared on TV as well.
