In the current economy almost any job is a good job and contractually backed jobs are desirable if the industry is stable.  The USPS is going to be going through a lot of changes in the coming years so I would not recommend working for USPS unless your willing to work your tail off and are not afraid of change.

I have not worked for them but have several friends that have.  it's hard work because the mail does not ever stop.  but the benefits are great, it's just about impossible to get fired and there is some serious job secruity as they don't downsize (recession proof industry).
