  1. I'm not sure personally, but there could be suspicious websites out there trying to pose as real schooling. If they are courses as part of a college though, I'd say definately not a scam. Online teaching is just supposed to quicken the process a little..but you lose the hands on experience, so if you want to make the most of learning go to the campus itself

  2. Most of it is. Go to the website of an accredited, real university in your state and check out their programs. Verify that the classes offer actual college credits or valid certifications. Never send money to some "school" without verifying that it is a real school. A lot of those online degree schools are really crooks operating out of rented office space.

  3. hmm.. i'd need a bit more info. Do you mean SCHOOL or college? Cuz school and college are two COMPLETELY different things.

Online school is a waste and you'll miss out on being a teenager.

Online COLLEGE is great, 'cuz college is just work, paper, and pen. No meeting people, no prom, no yearbook, no NOTHING. And when you go to college ONLINE, it saves you gas or the troubles of taking the bus. Whatever you can do in college you can do at home.

  4. No. I've taken accredited classes online through the University of Kentucky and through Murray State University. Similarly, there are several public and private schools online for school aged kids. They are the real deal, but look dull to me when compared to traditional homeschool.

  5. I don't think it is a scam ...it is just a waste of money.

Many people who begin homeschool think they need guidance from outside sources.   Unless you live in a state that requires you to follow a specific curriculum, you can learn anything you want to learn online from free resources, educational television, and library resources.

  6. most of the time the degrees are worth nothing. they are a scam in my opinion. they probably aren't even accredited

  7. No, actually a lot of accredited schools like Bethel and Northwestern (MN) have online programs. It's like the modern version of night school.
