    Royal Yacht Britannia

    Royal Mile

    Princes Street

    Holyrood House and the Scottish Parliament

There are lots of interesting places in Edinburgh, from the castle that in medieval times was surrounded by a foul smelling moat, to the queens northern retreat. or if history's not your bag the zoo is fantastic. I recommend the open top buses that leave from the top of Waverly station. They visit all the sights and as they run every 15 mins you can simply jump off and on at leisure to have a closer look at the ones that sound the most interesting.

    The castle (a must see)

    Scots monument (a bit of a climb but fab view)

    Edinburgh art galleries (free bus takes you between them)

    Edinburgh Dungeon (great fun)

    Edinburgh Zoo (corstorphine get the 26 bus from princes street)

    Leith - great food, shopping etc

    Scottish parliment - (cost a fortune so is worth a visit)

    Dynamic earth (great for kids)

    Holyrood palace (not great very over priced but touristy)

    Athurs seat (next to parliment, bit of a climb but great views to fife and edinburghs 6 other hills - Blackford, corstorphine, craiglockhart, pentland, castle & braid hill)

    Blackford hill royal observatory (best views over the city and can be reached by the 38 bus)

    Museum of childhood (free entry, great if you love toys)

    National museum of scotland on chalmbers street (Free entry truely amazing museum)

    Grey friars bobby on george iv bridge (read the story first)

    Grassmarket & cowgate (great closes and alleyways to discover and its free!)

    Royal mile & closes (again free)

    Ghost tour on royal mile (so much fun)

    St jiles cathedral - AMAZING, situated on the roayl mile, research heart of midlothian as many tourist spit on it but im not telling you anymore.

    Murrayfield stadium (catch a game of rugby)

    Ice skating at murrayfield ice rink

    Sking at hillend (year round dry ski slope)

    Golfing at one of the many golf clubs (lothian burn has fantastic views over the city

    Walk in the pentland hills

    Go on a boat trip along the canal (fountainbridge to the falkirk wheel)

    Catch a show at one of the many theatre in edinburgh - Kings theatre, playhouse, festival theatre ........

    Visit the newtown of Edinburgh with amazing georgian architecture

    the list is endless.
