  1. no, absolutely not. there has never been any scientific evidence of the existence of any species of reptile with a venomous stinger on its tail.

  2. yes, some sea snakes in the tropics carry a venomous stinger in their tails.

  3. no the venom glands are usually on the head of the snake

  4. no. how would they inject the poison if they did?

  5. Well there is a tpye of sea snake with some in a gland on their tale, but arachnids are known for it (scorpions). Poisonous snakes have hollow fang-like teeth that store venom. They kill by bite, not by sting.

  6. Most snakes have their venom in their heads. But, I belive some have venemous tails. I think these are really rare though. They are in the jungle or something. Maybe I'm thinking of scorpions...Yeah, I am. lol Actually, some snakes do have tail stingers. I think. Oh, I'm confused now. I think I might be wrong. No, I think some snakes do have venom in their tails. Maybe not though. I could be wrong. But I could be right. Actually, I'm pretty sure I'm wrong. Yeah, I'm wrong. I don't think snakes have venemous tails. Some have pointed tails though. But not venemous. Now that I think about it, I'm sure that they don't. I'm positive. I don't know what I was thinking...maybe rattlesnakes. I read the other answers and that is what confused me.

  7. No.  You're probably asking because  you saw a snake with anal spurs.  These aren't fangs and are used for mating.

  8. not at all

  9. Um.  You did say "snake," right?  Not "stingray" or "scorpion" or "bee"?

Far as I know, the only snake which can "gitcha" without biting you is the spitting cobra (but as the name indicates - the venom glads are located in the mouth).

Have you been having snake nightmares?  lol

I hope this has been helpful.

  10. Nope, snakes carry their venom in their fangs which are hollow.

  11. after reading all the answers to this question, i was becoming curious on the possibility of there being a snake with a poision barb on the end of the tail, which i was blantantly getting ready to say no, but i decided to look it up myself, since there was this lil ongoing debate with the sea snakes. well my first reaction was right, not even sea snakes have a barb on the end of their tail. i searched everywhere, thinking maybe there was some info. the only thing that gets a lil confusing is when you search "sea snake poisnous tail" is that you get a preview of two sentences from each website, one of that about sea snakes, then a mix of a sentance about the tails of stingrays, which running together sounds like the snakes have the barbs, but upon opening each site to read the entire entry, its two completely different animals they are talking about. so your answer to this question: NO, snakes do not have venom in their tails.... it is a part of their digestive process, and it originates from their poision glands which then connect to their fangs..... hope this helped.

  12. NO

  13. Some snakes have pointed tails but they do not have stingers like bees and wasps. Also, snakes produce and store venom in their heads, not their tails.

  16. No, snakes don't have venom in their tails. But they do have venom gland that contains lumen and provide with a large alveoli, which is located in the base of a tooth(or fangs), in each side of the head, behind the eye, invested in a muscular sheath.

  17. nope!

  18. no, some people get confused with rattlesnakes beause they shake their tails but nope, venom is in the mouths of the snakes

  19. no only the mouth

  20. no but there is a small stinger type profeection on some sea snakes but generaly the venom in the tail is just used by the araknids

  21. No, not at all. Some snakes have hard, pointed tails which they use as a defense weapon, but the tail contains no venom. The mud snake of the United States is one such species.

  22. None that i am aware of venome is basicaly a compound that evoled to aid in digestion of prey, venomous reptiles usally have a set of glands located on both sides of the mandible or jaw and that is what gives a rattle snake that puffy apperance,Rich
